Tough Mudder

Tough Mudder
Last weekend my brother Kirby and his wife Stacey competed in The Tough Mudder Competition in Phoenix. What is Tough Mudder? Here is how there the website describes it:..

"Tough Mudder events are hardcore 10-12 mile obstacle courses designed by British Special Forces to test your all around strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie. With the most innovative courses, half a million inspiring participants, and more than $2 million dollars raised for the Wounded Warrior Project, Tough Mudder is the premier adventure challenge series in the world"

If you are not familiar with The Wounded Warrior Project, YOU SHOULD BE! go to www.woundedwarriorProject.org

Looks fairly harmless....ready, set, go!

OKAY maybe not so harmless...yikes

Climb Kirby Climb!

Nice hair color Stacey! You go girl!!!

Contemplating their next obstacle
LOVE your shirt Stacey! BE STRONG!
They started training for this competition a couple years ago. Then in April Stacey was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent surgery in July and finished radiation in August. AND STILL continued to train!!!!
I admire you both so much. You chose to fight the fight together and win! You continued to focus on the future and this competition instead of letting the cancer take over. Words do not and cannot describe the love and admiration I have for both of you. A great way to support each other and a great cause.

This is Stacey getting shocked while running through the mud. Holy Cow girl what are you thinking?

When (if) you cross the finish line (in one piece) you get an official Tough Mudder orange headband.
After 12 1/2 miles of obstacles and running over 3 1/2 hours you earned it!
Congratulations you two! Thanks Shawnee and Dallas for the pictures and updates

AND Yes they said they will do it again!

Love to all,
Jeanne
