Why I am here

This blog was started to connect with and keep family and friends up to date on life in Texas as I know it. A place to share my love for this area through photography, history, and stories of this adventure Shaun and I call life.... and what an adventure it is!

Concrete and cabinets

Woohoo!  They are finally here to pour the concrete patio and steps.  They will pour the front and back steps and the back patio today and then are scheduled to pour the driveway and sidewalks Friday.
Look how many square feet of red dirt they just covered up!  yippeeeeee!
The painters have finished the wood cabinetry and it is gorgeous.  I am SO thrilled with the color and the finish.  The semi gloss lacquer really brought out the wood grain without being shiny.
This is the vanity in the guest bath.  What a very cool piece of wood on the front.  Sorry about the camera flash, tight space.  I never realized alder had so many variations in grain.
The linen and hamper cabinet in the master bath
The raised bar and corbels in the kitchen

I know you have seen all of these cabinets before in different stages.  Sorry to bore you but it has been amazing to watch them transform from raw wood into beautiful furniture quality pieces.
The painter is masking everything off today to begin painting the trim and walls tomorrow.  SO excited to see the finished product.  We have chosen the wall color, yikes I hope it looks as good on the wall as is does on the paint strip.

If the painter is able to stay on schedule and our light fixtures arrive from Seattle, we should be able to see the electricians by the end of next week.  That means lights and power!  We can start laying tile and work all night if we want to....  Oh Joy.. (insert sarcasm)

More to come

Love and miss all of you
Jeanne
